PHILA AND SUBURBAN HOTELS
Good deals have been gotten on hotels at the www.visitphilly.com site – There are usually better online deals than from the hotels directly.
We found a site called http://cheapdeals.grandhoteldeals.com/City/Philadelphia.htm but none of the hotels had heard of it and when I looked into it I could not find a home page or contact number . So use ordinary caution when you book Hamptons and Hilton’s usually all OK Comfort Inns less expensive and usually quite acceptable *Good reviews received from folks we know have a star *.
If no star – then no reviews by folks we know – but the on-line reviews are often helpful
Fort Washington
*** Holiday Inn in Fort Washington – 215-643-3000 This was preferred over the Hilton by guests who stay regularly because it had restaurants and was close to the train . Has an outdoor pool only . Fitness center – wireless internet http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g52670-d102283-Reviews-Holiday_Inn_Fort_Washington_Hotel_Conference_Center-Fort_Washington_Pennsylvania.html You can lower rates with AARP or AAA – or an on-line booking
Best Western Ft Washington Inn 285 Commerce Dr Fort Washington, PA 19034 (215) 542-7930 $89.99 1 king $99 2 Queens
breakfast wireless incl Discounts like AAA also reduce rate further . This is about a mile from the train – whereas the Holiday Inn
is right next to the train with a connecting sidewalk. There is a Subway and an Asian restaurant right next to this hotel
Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Washington 119 -129 nite indoor pool and gym – Got mixed reviews. *Morris House SOLD OUT 225 South 8th Street Phila 19106 (215) 922-2446 no elevator-front rooms noisy – incl breakfast -rave reviews. Only have 16 rooms
Hilton Garden Inn 1100 Arch St – good location . They have rooms left so on-line bookings might be possible
Holiday Inn 4th & Arch – got mixed reviews –
