BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.

cho: Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
l can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on. cho:

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on. cho:

He has sounded form the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.cho:

He has sounded form the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on. cho:

ln the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS

Well, in 18 and 14, we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Missisip
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we met the bloody British in the town of New Orleans
Cho:
We fired our guns and the British kept a comin'
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began a running
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico

Well, I seed Marse Jackson come a-walkin' down the street
And a-talkin' to a pirate by the name of Jean Lafitte;
He gave Jean a drink that he brung from Tennessee,
And the pirate said he'd help us drive the British to the sea.

Well the French told Andrew, "You had better run
For Packenham's a=comin' with a bullet in his gun."
Old Hickory said he didn't give a damn
He's a-gonna whup the britches off of Colonel Packenham.

Well, we looked down the river and we seed the British come
And there must have been a hundred of them beating on the drum
They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring
While we stood behind our cotton bales and didn't say a thing

Old Hickory said we could take em by surprise
If we didn't fire a musket till we looked em in the eyes
We held our fire till we seed their face well
Then we opened up our squirrel guns and really gave em well..

Well they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
They ran so fast the hounds couldn't catch em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico

Well we fired our cannons till the barrels melted down
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round
We filled his head with minie balls and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the 'gator lost his mind

They lost their pants and their pretty shiny coats
And their tails was all a-showin' like a bunch of billy goats.
They ran down the river with their tongues a-hanging out
And they said they got a lickin', which there wasn't any doubt.

Well we marched back to town in our dirty ragged pants
And we danced all night with the pretty girls from France;
We couldn't understand 'em, but they had the sweetest charms
And we understood 'em better when we got 'em in our arms.

Well, the guide who brung the British from the sea
Come a-limping into camp just as sick as he could be,
He said the dying words of Colonel Packenham
Was, "You better quit your foolin' with your cousin Uncle Sam."

Well, we'll march back home, but we'll never be content
Till we make Old Hick'ry the people's president.
And every time we think about the bacon and the beans
We'll think about the fun we had way down in New Orleans.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB
(tune :
"The Colonel Bogie March," written for ANZACS ("Australia New Zealand Army Corps") in World War I, was popularized by being featured in the 1960s film about WWII in Burma, "The Bridge on the River Kwai," from the novel by Pierre Boule .)

Come on & join our breakfast club
Come on & we've got the best of grub
Come on - you won't regret it
You'll never get it as good as we've got

Comet will make your teeth turn green
Comet it tastes like gasoline
Comet will make you vomit
So get some Comet, and vomit, today!

Ajax will make your teeth turn blue
Ajax it smells like Elmer's Glue
Ajax will make you relax
So get some Ajax, and relax, today!

Arrid It keeps your armpits dry
Arrid It makes you smell, "Oh, my!"
Arrid Helps you get marrid
So get Arrid, and get marrid, today!

THE COMING OF THE FROGS
[Tune: Battle Hymn of the Republic]

Mine eyes have seen the horror
of the coming of the frogs.
They are sneaking through the swamps,
they are lurking under logs.
You can hear their mournful croaking
through the early morning fog.

The frogs keep hopping on.

CHORUS
Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit, croak, croak [Repeat 3x]
The frogs keep hopping on.

The frogs have grown in numbers,
and their croaking fills the air.
There's no place to escape to
'cause the frogs are everywhere.
They've eaten all the flies
and now they're hungry as a bear.
The frogs keep hopping on.

I used to like the bullfrogs,
like to feel their slimy skin.
Liked to put them in my teacher's desk
and take them home again.
Now they're knocking at the front door,
I can't let those frogs come in.
The frogs keep hopping on.

They have hopped into the living room
and headed down the hall.
They have trapped me in the corner
and my back's against the wall.
And when I open up my mouth
to give a desperate call.
This is all that's heard:

Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit, croak, croak...

DONA DONA

On a wagon bound for market
There's a calf with a mournful eye
High above him there's a swallow
Winging swiftly through the sky

Oh how the winds are laughing,
They laugh with all their might
Laugh and laugh the whole day through
And half the summer's night (singing dona)
Dona, Dona, Dona
Dona Dona Dona Do
Dona Dona Dona... Dona
Dona Dona Dona Do

Stop complaining said the farmer
Who told you a calf to be
Why don't you have wings to fly with
like the swallow so proud and free?

Oh how the winds are laughing...

Calves are easily bound and slaughtered
Never knowing the reason why
But whoever treasures freedom
Like the swallow, must learn to fly

Oh how the winds are laughing...

FROM A DISTANCE

From a distance, the world looks blue and green,
and the snow caped mountains, white.
From a distance, the ocean meets the stream,
and the Eagle takes to flight.

From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land,
It's the voice of hope,
It's the voice of peace,
It's the voice of every man.

From a distance, we all have enough,
and no one is in need.
There are no guns, no bombs, no diseases,
no hungry mouths to feed.
From a distance, we are instruments,
marching in a common band,
Playing songs of hope,
Playing songs of peace,
They're the songs of every man.

And God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us,from a distance.

From a distance, you look like my friend,
even though we are at war.
From a distance, I can't comprehend,
what all this war is for.
From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land,
It's the hope of hopes,
It's the love of loves,
It's the heart of every man / song of every man.

And God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us,from a distance

Glory Glory What's It To Ya (
(tune: Battle Hymn of the Republic)

I wear my favorite jammies in the summer when it's hot,
I wear my favorite jammies in the winter when it's not ,
and sometimes in the spring and sometimes in the fall
I slip in between the sheets with nothing on at all
Glory Glory What's It To Ya

Glory Glory How Peculiar
(tune: Battle Hymn of the Republic)

As one pink porpoise popped into the pool the other pink porpoise popped out
Glory Glory How Peculiar
As one blue beetle was bleeding blue blood, the other blue beetle bled black
Glory Glory How Peculiar
As one sly snake slid up the slide, the other sly snake slid down
As one drunk duck dropped into the ditch the other drunk duck dropped dead
etc.

And the piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On grandma's feather bed

IT AIN'T GONNA RAIN NO MORE
Chorus:
It aint gonna rain no more no more,
It aint gonna rain no more,
So how the heck can I wash my neck
If it aint gonna rain no more.

A peanut sat on a railroad track
His heart was all a-flutter
A choo-choo train came round the bend,
TOOT TOOT Peanut butter.

Chorus:
It aint gonna rain no more no more.....

A hen and a pig went for a walk
Just to stretch their legs,
A motorcar came round the bend,
TOOT TOOT Ham and eggs.
Chorus:

When boating, never quarrel,
For you'll find, without a doubt,
A boat is not the proper place
To have a falling out.
Chorus:

Oh for a home where the buffalo roam,
Where the deer and the antelope play.
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
For what can an antelope say?
Chorus:

Mary had a little lamb
The doctor was surprised
But when Old McDonald had a farm
He couldn't believe his eyes
Chorus:

Mary had a steamboat;
The steamboat had a bell.
Mary went to heaven,
The steamboat went "Toot, toot."
Chorus:

Mary is a proper girl,
She goes to church on Sundays.
She prays that she will have the strength,
To chase the boys on Mondays.

Oh! Mosquito he fly high,
Mosquito he fly low,
If the ol' moskeeta light on me,
He ain't gonna fly no mo'

Oh, of all the fishes in the sea,
My favorite is the bass,
He climbs up in the seaweed trees,
And slides down on his hands and knees.

An old man lay down by a sewer
And by that sewer he died.
Now, at the coroner's request,
They called it sewer-side.

A golf ball sailin' thru the air,
Whizzed by a man a hummin'
He heard a caddy holler, "Fore!"
An' he thought three more were comin'.

Said baby tern to mother tern,
"Can I have a brother."
"Yes" said mom to baby tern,
"One good tern deserves another."

MY BREAKFAST LIES OVER THE OCEAN
(Tune: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean)

My breakfast lies over the ocean,
My dinner lies over the sea,
My stomach is in a commotion,
Don't mention my supper to me.

CHORUS
Bring back, bring back,
Oh bring back my bucket to me, to me . . .

I really felt rotten this morning,
They tell me I really looked pale,
My stomach gave adequate warning,
To lean far out over the rail.

The sound of a stomach in motion,
A murmuring noise inside me,
I looked down and there on the water,
Was breakfast and dinner and tea.

[Tune: Auld Lang Syne]
On mules we find two legs behind, and two we find before;
We stand behind before we find, what the two behind be for.
When we're behind the two behind, we find what these be for;
So stand before the two behind, and behind the two before.

Rise and shine and give God your glory, glory,
Rise and shine and give God your glory, glory,
Children of the Lord.

Old Noah, he built him, he built him an arky, arky,
Noah, he built him, he built him an arky, arky,
Built it out of hickory barky, barky
Children of the Lord.

The animals, they came in, they came in by twosies, twosies,
Animals, they came in, they came in by twosies, twosies,
Elephants and kangaroosies, roosies,
Children of the Lord.

It rained, it poured for forty daysies, daysies,
Rained, it poured for forty daysies, daysies,
Drove those animals nearly crazy, crazy,
Children of the Lord.

The sun came out and dried up the landy, landy,
Sun came out and dried up the landy, landy,
Everything was fine and dandy, dandy,
Children of the Lord.

So Rise & shine & give......

Throw your leaders overboard & listen to them scream

SIMPLE GIFTS

Tis the gift to be simple Tis the gift to be free
Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be
And when we find ourselves in the place just right
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight

When true simplicity is gained
To bow and to bend we shan't not be ashamed
To turn, turn will be our delight
Til by turning, turning we come out right

The Earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof
It's streets its slums, as well as the stars above
Salvation is here where we laugh, where we cry
Where we seek and love, where we live and die

When the true liberty is found
By fear and by hate we shall no longer be bound
In love and in life we will find a new birth
In peace and in freedom redeem the earth

TAPS
Day is done. Gone the sun..From the lakes
From the hills.........From the skies.
All is well, Safely rest.......God is nigh........

Fading light..........Dims the sight........And a star.........
Gems the sky,..........Gleaming bright
From afar, Drawing nigh, Falls the night.

Thanks and praise, For our days, Neath the sun,
Neath the stars, Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know, God is nigh.

Reportedly, in 1862 during the Civil War, when Union Army
Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison's Landing in Virginia. The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land. During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moans of a soldier who lay severely wounded on the field.
Not knowing if it was a Union or Confederate soldier, Captain Ellicombe decided to risk his life and bring the stricken man back for medical attention. Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire, the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment.
When the Captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead.
The Captain lit a lantern and suddenly caught his breath and went numb with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier.
It was his own son. The boy had been studying music in the South when war broke out. Without telling his father, the boy enlisted in the Confederate Army.
The following morning, heartbroken, the father asked permission of his superiors to give his son a full military burial despite his enemy status. His request was only partially granted.  Captain Ellicombe had asked if he could have a group of Army band members
play a funeral dirge for his son at the funeral. The request was turned down since the soldier was a Confederate. But, out of respect for the father, they did say they could give him only one musician. The Captain chose a bugler. He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he had found on a piece of paper in the pocket of the dead youth's uniform.
This wish was granted. The haunting melody, we now know as "Taps" used at military funerals, and at the end of each day on US military bases was born.

WALTZING WITH BEARS
(or:OUR CUBMASTER GOES WALTZING WITH BEARS)

We went to his tent in the middle of the night
We tip-toed inside & turned on the light
But o-ur cubmaster was nowhere in sight
And we're sure our cubmaster was waltzing with bears

He goes wa- wa- wa- wa- wa- waltzing with bears
Raggy bears shaggy bears baggy bears too
And there's nothing on earth our cubmaster won't do
So he can go waltzing Wa Wa Wa Waltzing
So he can go waltzing Go waltzing with bears

We gave our cubmaster a new shirt to wear
But when he came home it was covered with hair
And lately we've noticed there's several new tears
And we're sure our cubmaster's been waltzing with bears

He goes wa- wa- wa- wa- wa- waltzing with bears.....

We told our cubmaster that he should be good
And do all the things that we said that he should
But we know that he'd rather be off in the wood
And he's dancing with Pandas We can't understand it
But the Bears all demand at least one waltz a day

He goes wa- wa- wa- wa- wa- waltzing with bears........

Last nite when the moon rose we crept down the stairs
And he took us to where all the bears have their lairs
We danced in big bear hugs with nary a care
And it all seems like flying There is no denying
And now all our den shirts are covered with hairs

We went wa wa wa wa wa waltzing with bears .......
