SOCIETY IS CURRENTLY TAKING A BREAK !
PLEASE CHECK BACK
WE'LL ANNOUNCE IT HERE WHEN WE START UP AGAIN
________________________________________________
What is the Play In A Round
Society ???
Just folks who enjoy playing and singing bluegrass, folk, traditional, country,
pop, golden oldies or other great inter-generational music. We
jam together using sheets so everyone with an instrument can play along
( this helps beginners get a foothold ) and we share our
music with those that host us, often seniors or those in rehab facilities.
Our format seems to be constantly changing.
We'll try and keep you updated by email if you're on our list - but
be sure to always see our schedule
so you know if we're on or not -
Who is invited ?
Anyone & Everyone! It's a great place to meet other musicians. Beginners are
welcome. As are more advanced players .
Come try out that new instrument you've been learning or share that
song you just memorized.

What do you need to bring?
Bring yourself, bring
a friend, bring good spirits, bring your voice, bring your instrument(s)
and if you want to share some of your favorite songs, be sure to bring
about 10 -15 copies so we can all jam along. If you have a chance, pick
up the Bluegrass Fakebook - it's a favorite
that we often use and no one needs to bring sheets to play those.

What's the format?
We get in a circle, and PLAY IN A ROUND
! We all play along on
every song that we can, and those that feel they can take a break are offered
a chance to do so each round. ( Click here to get more details on
our Jam Basics which explain our current format a little more )
The original Play In A Round Society blended with John McCarty's
Bluegrass Slow
Jammers recently- so we have a strong Bluegrass leaning, with a lot of
other styles added in. And when seniors are in the
audience we make sure to play a good few rounds of the
"Oldies" that they love to hear. You'll like
learning them,too.
